KERSHAW COUNTY, SC – A pedestrian was killed near a rest area on I-20 in Kershaw County late Thursday night, ABC Columbia reports.

Donald Ray Bracey, 43, had parked his vehicle on the eastbound side of the interstate and was walking towards the rest area when he was hit and killed by an unidentified vehicle. Kershaw County Coroner David West believes the incident occurred around 11 p.m. on May 21.

Bracey’s body was discovered shortly before 5 a.m. this morning. A joint investigation is being conducted by the South Carolina Department of Highway Patrol and the Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office.
