2nd Victim Identified in Spartanburg I-85 Crash

The Details:

The second person killed in a head-on collision on Interstate 85 in Spartanburg has been identified by the county coroner as Fran Geno Pifferetti Jr., 58, of Spencer, North Carolina.

According to coroner Rusty Clevenger, Mr. Pifferetti Jr. died at the scene of the accident. Investigators determined that a Chevy Camaro (driven by the first victim, Mugahed Abduliah Algomai of Spartanburg) on the northbound lane veered off the road, crossing cable barriers, hitting an SUV, and finally colliding with a tractor-trailer head-on.

The SC Highway Patrol claimed the accident occurred just before 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 25th, just before the 72-mile marker.
