A Personal Injury Lawyer’s Perspective:
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victim’s loved ones for this sudden and tragic loss.
If the fault is determined to be that of the driver of the vehicle, the victim’s family would be eligible to file a wrongful death lawsuit to claim compensation for lost income, medical bills, emotional pain and suffering, funeral expenses, and punitive damages. If the victim was the breadwinner in this family, damages for loss of support and future earnings can be recovered as well.
