Motorcyclist Killed in Car Accident on Piedmont Highway | Call (864) 326 - 3333

GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – A crash in Greenville County killed a motorcyclist Saturday, WSPA News reports. 

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, a motorcycle collided with a car on Piedmont Highway when the vehicle exiting Resthaven Memorial Gardens pulled out in front of it. 

The Gantt Fire Department, Greenville County EMS, and South Carolina Highway Patrol responded to the scene.

The motorcyclist was thrust from the vehicle and taken to the hospital by officials. 

During surgery at the hospital, officials pronounced the victim dead. 

The coroner identified the man as 50-year-old Samuel Lee McGarity, of Greenville.

This case is actively being investigated by the South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Greenville County Coroner’s Office.
