Motorcyclist Dead in Clemson Road Crash

COLUMBIA, SC – A motorcyclist is dead following a three-vehicle accident Friday on Clemson Road.
According to a report by WIS, the victim is Michael W. Smith, 65, who was driving a 2002 Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
The accident occurred at the intersection of Clemson Road and Ricky Lane Friday afternoon whenever a 2003 Jeep SUV attempted to cross the intersection. The SUV crashed into the motorcycle, and then into a Chrysler van stopped at a stop sign.
Smith was taken to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. His cause of death has been ruled as blunt-force trauma to the torso.
The accident is currently under investigation by Highway Patrol officials.
