Car Crash Leaves One Dead in Berkeley County - Call (864) 326 - 3333

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. – A car crash killed a driver Wednesday morning in Berkeley County, NEWS 2 reports.

According to Cpl. Matt Southern of the South Carolina Highway Patrol, an unidentified driver lost control of their 2017 Ford while traveling on Cypress Gardens Road near Bushy Road.

Around 4:40 a.m. the driver crossed lanes on southbound Cypress Gardens Road and veered off the road. The car struck a tree, flipped upside down and caught on fire, said Cpl. Southern.

Authorities report that the driver was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident and suffered terminal injuries after being trapped in the fiery wreck. The cause of the accident is not yet known.

This is an ongoing investigation by the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office.
