Authorities Investigate Fatal Head-On Crash | (864) 326 - 3333 | Greenville, SC

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Authorities are investigating a fatal head-on collision near Simpsonville, FOX Carolina reports.

According to the Greenville County Coroner’s Office, the crash occurred at 9:08 p.m. Tuesday when a driver veered off the road and struck another vehicle driving in the opposite direction near Garrison Road.

The coroner’s office said, Rodolfo Lozano, 39, was driving his Honda Civic on West Georgia Road when he lost control of the vehicle and went off the side of the road. When Lozano tried to regain control he crossed the center-line and hit a Jeep Wrangler head-on.

South Carolina state troopers report both drivers were trapped inside their vehicles and had to be removed by officials.

Authorities reported Lozano dead at the scene. Troopers said the driver of the Jeep suffered substantial injuries.

This is an ongoing investigation by Highway Patrol.
