COLUMBIA, S.C. – According to The State, a 67-year-old man was killed in a two-vehicle collision Sunday night.

The Columbia Police Department said the accident occurred on Leesburg Road around 10 p.m.

Johnny Dickerson, 67, was driving west in a Toyota van when a 63-year-old man in a Ford Fusion, driving in the opposite direction, crossed the center line and collided head-on with Dickerson’s Toyota.

Coroner Gary Watts said Dickerson died at the scene of the crash from blunt force trauma.

Two other people were injured in the wreck and were transported to an area hospital. Information about their conditions has not been made available.

The accident caused Leesburg Road to be closed for nearly two hours.
