LEXINGTON, SC – A Swansea man died in a car accident on South Carolina Highway 6 early this morning, reports WLTX.

The victim is Swansea man Juan Carlos Chavero, 38. He was killed this morning around 1 a.m. in the 1800 block of SC-6 when an oncoming vehicle crossed into the wrong lane and collided with Chavero’s car.

Chavero died at the scene of the accident due to injuries sustained in the crash.

The other driver, who has not yet been identified, has been taken to the hospital for the treatment of non-critical injuries.

Neither man was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, according to the report.

Authorities continue to investigate the accident at this time.
