GREENVILLE, S.C. – Police are investigating an accident involving a vehicle driving toward protesters Monday, WYFF 4 reports.

Police said the incident occurred during a protest to honor George Floyd at Tanner’s Big Orange restaurant, when a vehicle drove through the parking lot toward protesters.

Demonstrators told police they felt threatened because the vehicle didn’t stop. When they tried to pull on the door handles, the vehicle drove away.

The driver of the vehicle is not in custody. However, police said they are gathering surveillance videos from businesses in the area and have the vehicle’s tag number.

Police say that this is an ongoing investigation and they are reviewing evidence in the case.
