Police charge woman involved in fatal motorcycle accident

GREENVILLE, S.C. — Police arrested a woman who caused the June 13 collision that killed a motorcyclist on the city’s south side, WYFF 4 reports.
According to Master Trooper Gary Miller of the South Carolina Highway patrol, Ella Thompson, 82, is the driver responsible for hitting a motorcycle while attempting to turn onto Piedmont Highway Saturday from Resthaven Memorial Gardens. The force of the collision threw the man onto the roadway.
Officials pronounced the motorcyclist dead at the scene. Troopers said he was not wearing a helmet.
Thompson was charged with failing to yield right of way.
