One person killed in Colleton County car crash

COLLETON COUNTY, S.C.  – A single-vehicle car accident in Colleton County on Saturday left one dead, NEWS 2 reports.

The accident occurred on June 6 at 11:54 p.m. when a 2007 Ford Crown Victoria driving down Possum Corner Road veered off the right side, tried to adjust, then drove off the left side of the road and into a tree.

The Crown Victoria reportedly had two occupants at the time of the accident.

The car’s driver was taken to the hospital with injuries. The passenger was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to NEWS 2, neither person was wearing a seat belt on at the time of the accident.

This is an ongoing investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
