One injured in head-on hit-and-run collision in Laurens County

LAURENS, SC (LAURENS COUNTY) – A hit-and-run collision in Laurens County this afternoon left one person injured, according to a report by Fox Carolina.

The accident occurred around 3 p.m. when a 2013 Chevrolet Impala crossed over the center line and into oncoming traffic on U.S. Highway 221, near Ekom Beach Road. The Impala struck a 2013 Dodge Charger in a head-on collision, and the Impala’s driver then fled the scene on foot.

The Charger’s driver received non-critical injuries in the collision and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Authorities continue to search for and attempt to identify the driver of the Impala.

Possible witnesses or those with information about the accident are asked to contact the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
