One dead after three-car crash in North Charleston

CHARLESTON, S.C. – A crash on I-26 near North Charleston left one dead Saturday, WCSC reports.
According to South Carolina Highway Patrol, the accident occurred Saturday around 1:45 p.m. near the 207 mile marker. The driver of a Nissan Pathfinder lost control of their vehicle while traveling westbound on I-26, crashed into the median, then collided with an abandoned truck. The Nissan attempted to turn back onto the road, where it hit a Ford Fusion.
According to Highway Patrol, both the Fusion’s driver and a passenger were taken to an area hospital. There are no details on their condition.
The driver of the Pathfinder was pronounced dead at the scene. Their identity has not yet been released.
