Motorcyclist critically injured while trying to avoid pickup truck and trailer

BEREA, SC (GREENVILLE COUNTY) – A motorcyclist was critically injured while attempting to prevent an accident with a pickup truck and its trailer this evening, according to Fox Carolina.
The accident happened around 6 p.m. on South Carolina Highway 183 and Sulphur Springs Road when the driver of a 2005 Ford F-350 towing a trailer made an improper lane change in front of a motorcyclist. The motorcyclist, operating a 2005 Harley-Davidson, was forced to lay the vehicle down in order to prevent a crash with the trailer.
The unidentified motorcyclist was taken to the hospital for treatment of critical, life-threatening injuries. They were not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, according to the report.
The driver of the Ford was ticketed for driving without a license and for making an improper lane change.
