Crash Alert: Man dead in go-cart accident identified

SUMTER COUNTY, SC – A man died when his go-cart was struck from behind on Friday, according to a local news report.
The accident happened at about 10:35 p.m. when a 2017 Toyota Tacoma rear-ended the go-cart on South Carolina 763 near Alcott Drive.
Teddie Simmons, 58, died at the scene. Authorities notified next of kin and planned to perform an autopsy on Tuesday morning.
The accident remains under investigation.
