Crash Alert: Deputy on way to chase hits tree

WALHALLA, SC – FoxCarolina.com reports that an Oconee County Deputy crashed into a tree as he was on his way to an active pursuit on Thursday.
Members of the Sheriff’s office were pursuing a vehicle on Highway 24 and this deputy was en route to offer backup.

The name of the deputy was not released, nor was his condition.
The pursuit ended when the suspect drove into a ditch near Deer Knoll Drive. He then continued on foot.
The name of the suspect has not been released. He was taken to the hospital for treatment of his injuries after he was apprehended.
