Coroner ID’s pedestrian killed by hit-and-run driver

CLEMSON, S.C. – According to WYFF, the coroner has identified a pedestrian killed by a hit-and-run driver Tuesday night.
According to Anderson County Coroner Greg Shore, Dennis Ray Whitaker, 51, of Anderson, was walking along Clemson Boulevard around 10:35 p.m. when he was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene.
Whitaker died at the scene of multiple traumatic injuries, Shore said.
Police say there is no description of the vehicle involved, although it may have damage to front driver’s side area.
