Authorities investigate fatal two-car collision on Johns Island; one person dead

JOHNS ISLAND, S.C. – WCSC reports that authorities are investigating a two-car collision that killed one person on Wednesday afternoon.

According to Capt. Roger Antonio with the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office, the wreck happened on Bohicket Road near Edenvale Road around 4:20 p.m.

Authorities say a Chevrolet was traveling east on Bohicket Road when the driver crossed the center line and collided with a Toyota heading west.

A passenger inside the Chevrolet was killed, Antonio said. The passenger was not wearing a seatbelt.

The driver of the Chevrolet and the occupants of the Toyota were taken to a hospital.

The Charleston County Coroner’s Office has not yet released the identity of the deceased.
