GREENWOOD COUNTY, S.C. — A crash on US-178 killed one person and injured another Tuesday afternoon, WSPA News reports.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol reported that the accident happened around 3 p.m. near Mock Orange Road, when an SUV attempting to turn on US-178 when it collided with a southbound car. The car veered off the road and the crashed into a tree.
Officials pronounced the driver of the car dead at the scene. The Greenwood County Coroner’s Office identified her as 33-year-old Greenwood resident Dorreen Elizabeth Johnson.
The car's passenger was taken to Self Regional Hospital for treatment of injuries.
The driver of the SUV had no reported injuries.
