HOLLY HILL, S.C. - According to The Times and Democrat, two men died after their vehicle crashed into a downtown office building Sunday night.

Holly Hill Police Chief Josh Detter said an officer was sitting in a patrol car when he noticed two cars traveling at speeds of around 100 miles per hour on Old State Road. Detter said the officer did not engage in pursuit but attempted to locate the vehicles.

Soon after, an officer found that a green Honda had crashed at the intersection of Old State Road and Gardner Boulevard.

The officer found one of the occupants lying dead on the road, having been ejected from the vehicle, across from The Santee Striper newspaper office and The Holly Hill Observer.

The other occupant was found deceased in the backseat of the vehicle. Officers were unable to determine which of the occupants was driving the vehicle at the time of the crash.

The Orangeburg County Coroner's Office has yet to release the identities of the deceased men.

The S.C. Highway Patrol’s Multi-discipline Accident Investigation Team is assisting in the investigation, in order to determine who was driving the vehicle.
