The Run-Down:

We are sad to say that Spartanburg County Coroner’s office has announced the death of three people due to a crash in Wellford on Tuesday, April 19th, at the intersection of Greenville Highway and Tucapaua Road.

The victims of this unfortunate incident have been identified as 43-year-old Jackolane Mattison, 30-year-old Megan Barnett, and 6-year-old Briley Barnett. All three victims were pronounced dead at 4:53 pm by the coroner, Rusty Clevenger.

According to Spartanburg District 5, 30-year-old Barnett worked as a teacher’s assistant at Wellford Academy, the same school that her daughter, 6-year-old Briley, was attending.

A Personal Injury Lawyer’s Perspective:

In unfortunate cases like this, our team of lawyers would advocate for the highest possible insurance settlement to help alleviate some of the financial burdens that come with funeral costs and loss of income, so that all of the families and friends who are touched by this unfortunate event, can have time to grieve with loved ones.

Our hearts and prayers go out to the families, friends, faculty, and students affected by this sudden and tragic loss.
