
COLUMBIA, S.C. — A single-vehicle accident Tuesday killed two people and left one injured, WACH FOX reports.
The accident happened around 9:20 p.m. in Kershaw County when a driver traveling east on Dicey Creek Road ran a stop sign on Jefferson Davis Highway and hit a tree, officials said.
Responders flew the driver, Donald Holland, Jr., to Prisma Health with severe injuries, said Trooper David Jones of the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Backseat passenger Tommy Odom, 60, was thrown from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
Kershaw County Coroner David West said that the front-seat passenger, 57-year-old Lori Brannon Holland, was pronounced dead on arrival at Kershaw County Medical Center.
Officials said no one in the vehicle was wearing a seat belt.
