
GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C.— A fatal accident in which a motorcycle hit a loose trailer is under investigation, ABC News 4 reports.
South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the accident, which occurred on Wednesday when a motorcyclist hit a utility trailer that had detached from a pickup truck. The incident took place at approximately 10:45 a.m. on North Fraser Street in Georgetown County.
It is unknown if the motorcyclist died at the scene or if officials transported them to a nearby hospital.
Officials are looking for the driver of the truck who fled the scene after the accident. The truck is described as a white 2003-2007 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 or 2500 with black and chrome wheels.
This investigation is ongoing.
