
GREER, SC (SPARTANBURG COUNTY) – The victim of a late-May crash in Greer died Friday in the hospital, about three weeks after the accident, according to a report by Fox Carolina.
The victim is 68-year-old Mark Charles Rhoads, of Lake Lure, North Carolina, who was a passenger in a Toyota SUV on May 28. The SUV was stopped for traffic on I-85 North, near milepost 57, when it was struck from behind by a Jaguar.
Rhoads was taken to the hospital following the crash, as was the driver of the Jaguar, who had to be extracted from the vehicle using the jaws of life. The driver of the Toyota was not harmed.
The Jaguar’s driver was charged with driving too fast for conditions, according to the report.
