
PIEDMONT, SC (ANDERSON COUNTY) – One person is dead following an early-morning motorcycle accident in Anderson County, according to reporting by WSPA.
The accident happened just after 1:15 a.m. on Interstate 85 when a motorcyclist—38-year-old Myreon Jamar Smith, of Williamston—drove off the roadway near the 34 mile marker.
Smith collided with a tree and a street sign and was then ejected from the motorcycle.
The vehicle continued down the road and caught fire after colliding with another tree.
There is no word at this time as to what caused Smith to lose control of the vehicle.
The accident remains under investigation at this time.
