July 21, 2023 – Paul Hammack

The Details:
A crash occurred between a Lake City High School bus and a semi-truck in Orangeburg County. The bus was transporting Lake City High School football players and their coach from a football camp.
The bus was traveling north on U.S. 301 when the semi-truck, driving west on Bonner Avenue, collided with the school bus. All passengers and the bus driver were injured, but the truck driver was not.
According to an FSD3 official, one of the students involved was 17 years old, while the other three were 16.
Investigation on the crash continues by the SCHP, and it is undetermined who is at fault and if there will be any charges related to the crash at this time.
A Personal Injury Lawyer’s Perspective:
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the student-athletes and the coach injured in this accident. We are thankful the accident didn’t cause serious or fatal injuries.
As further investigation will be needed to determine fault, having a personal injury lawyer who can help the family of those injured navigate this claim will ensure that some compensation is given to include medical expenses, pain and suffering, and more.
