A Personal Injury Lawyer’s Perspective:

We are heartbroken to hear about this senseless tragedy, and our thoughts and prayers go out to the families and friends affected by this terrible accident.

Due to the DUI charge, family members of the victim may be eligible to file a wrongful death claim and obtain punitive damages. Particularly if the victim was the breadwinner in this family, damages for loss of support and future earnings can be recovered. Fault and negligence appear to be clear in this matter due to the facts of the collision and the intoxication of the driver.
