Fatal Greenville County Crash Kills Driver

The Details:

On Sunday, December 18, a crash occurred on East North Street near Park Walk Drive at 1:30 a.m. According to the Greenville County Coroner’s Office, a driver is dead after being hit twice.

The victim has been identified as Edward Silas Whitmire, 25, by the coroner.

After an initial collision, the driver got out of his vehicle and was attempting to cross the median when he was struck by another vehicle.

The car that hit Whitmire then hit another occupied car. According to troopers, the car stopped on East North Street.

Whitmire was taken to the hospital, troopers say, but he died as a result of his injuries. The other drivers in the collision were injured and taken to the hospital.

This collision is still under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol and the GCCO.

A Personal Injury Lawyer’s Perspective:

We are deeply saddened by the loss of another life in a tragic collision. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victim’s loved ones.

As this crash involves several vehicles, an investigation is essential to understand who the at-fault party or parties were. With such cases as these, it can be overwhelming to deal with each party’s insurance. Hiring a personal injury lawyer will ensure a proper investigation is performed. If a wrongful death claim is appropriate, a lawyer can file on behalf of the victim’s family so that they receive the full compensation they are owed. At Hammack Law Firm, we will fight for your rights and will see your case through to the end, whether that is negotiating and settling out of court or going to trial.
