Elderly pedestrian killed crossing highway

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. – A 77-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed while trying to cross Highway 501 on Friday night, according to WMBF.
State troopers, Horry County police officers, and Horry County firefighters responded to the scene of the accident at around 9 p.m. on Friday.
According to Horry County Deputy Coroner Darris Fowler, Nancy Cueto of Myrtle Beach was attempting to cross Highway 501 near Carolina Forest Boulevard when she was hit by an unidentified vehicle. Cueto was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigations are ongoing.
