Bicyclist Killed in Lexington County After Collision with Vehicle

The Details:
According to the Lexington County Coroner’s Office, a man was killed while riding his bicycle after a vehicle hit him from behind. The accident occurred around 6 a.m. on Tuesday, September 20th on Mack Street in Lexington County.
The cyclist was riding in the southbound lane when the vehicle crashed into him. Statements from Coroner Margaret Fisher identified the victim as 37-year-old Larry Gene who was pronounced dead at the scene due to the severe injuries he sustained as a result of the accident.
The driver sustained no injuries and remained at the scene according to officials. The incident is still under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol and no criminal charges have been made against the driver at this point.
